What is Laparoscopic Varicocelectomy?
Laparoscopic varicocelectomy is a keyhole surgery performed through 3 small cuts in the abdomen. A camera and special instruments are used to visualise and ligate the dilated testicular veins.
Advantages of Laparoscopic Surgery
- Small keyhole incisions in the abdomen
- Better visualisation of both sides if needed
- Shorter hospital stay (often day care or overnight)
- Early return to work and normal activities
Who is it Recommended For?
- Men with bilateral varicoceles
- Those who prefer laparoscopic / keyhole surgery
- Selected teenage or adult patients where laparoscopic approach is advantageous
How the Procedure is Done
- You are given general anaesthesia.
- Small ports are placed in the abdomen.
- The testicular veins are identified and tied off while preserving the artery and lymphatics.
- Ports are removed and small cuts are closed with sutures.
