Varicocele treatment choices
Many varicoceles can be watched without a procedure. Treatment is usually discussed when pain persists, a testicle appears to be getting smaller, or fertility is a concern together with an abnormal sperm test. The best method depends on an individual assessment.
In short
- Observation can be appropriate when symptoms and test results are reassuring.
- Microsurgery, keyhole surgery, robotic-assisted surgery and embolisation suit different situations.
- When fertility matters, both partners’ health and timing affect the plan.
